October is full of interesting artful and archeological events on the coast. Clatsop Community College has a class on printmaking. And they will open an exhibit by Seattle artist David Allison. At the Graveyard of the Pacific there will be a presentation on shipwreck archeology talking about the many ship remains in the area.
