Do you wonder if there are ghosts and spirits on the Oregon coast? Since the coastline around Astoria and Seaside boast over two centuries of history, it’s no wonder visitors may hear of encounters from beyond. Perhaps some spirits linger in Seaside from past shipwrecks before the lighthouse was finished in 1881, or from a brawl at the Bridge Tender Tavern.
You have the chance to find out much more about these mysteries at the Oregon Ghost Conference, the largest paranormal convention in the Pacific Northwest. The 6th annual conference takes place from March 31 to April 2, 2017. Perhaps you’ll even help investigate the Tavern’s story – or at least have a ‘ghoulish’ drink there! Don’t believe in ghosts? That’s OK – just bring your own curiosity, and choose to believe or not believe any or all of the presentations. You don’t need to believe in anything, just to question everything!
The General Admission ticket gives you access to the vendors and the 16 speakers and six panels on topics ranging from Oregon Ghost Towns to Afterlife Experiences to Do You Want to Be on a Paranormal TV Show? In addition, a number of classes will be offered with separate ticket prices on topics as varied as Reiki Energy Healing, Paranormal Journaling, and Historical Research for Paranormal Investigators. There are entertaining events, ghost tours, and parties to round out the schedule.
Bonfire on the Beach: Share the best ghost stories, true or not, around the fire. S’mores optional!
The Historical Conjuror Magic Show: Presenting illusion and mystery in the same way that 18th and 19th century audiences would have seen it – bringing parlor tricks back from the past.
Mystiques Roadshow: Phychometry with Ankhasha Amenti – Audience members may bring haunted, mysterious or ancestral objects to be read.
Northwest Ghost Tours: “Walk with the Spirits” into Seaside’s haunted history and listen to ghost stories based on documented research. Two Tours: Seaside Promenade and Oceanfront; Downtown Seaside and Broadway.

You’ll feel right at home when you reserve your stay at historic Clementine’s Bed and Breakfast, since you may get an extra paranormal bonus. Some people say the Moose Temple Lodge building (part of the B&B) is the oldest building in Astoria, and some guests have reported they encountered a spirit named Mary there. Judith will be waiting to welcome you warmly to her bed and breakfast – who knows if you’ll encounter Mary as well?
