When I vsit a new place or return to a favorite place one of my first questions is “where is there good wildlife and raw nature”. I am never at a loss of these places here on the north coast of Oregon. Whether it be birds, or more-legged critters or our flora and fauna we have a lot going on. Word of mouth sources is great after you get here, but for a more planned agenda we have some great resourses I’d like to share. We are happy to guide you to our favorites but I have included some accessible spots, less than 20 minutes from Clementine’s. If you can weather the off season things get even more interesting.Quick suggestion: Fort Stevens State Park. It’s worth the price of a day pass ticket to visit for trail riding or walking in magnificant coastal forests. Coffenbury Lake is a gem for a 2 mile hike for bird watching, biking, hiking close to the smallish inland lake next in close proximity to beaches in the thick of significant forest. To top it all off head to the south jetty. The viewing point will give you a heart stopping feel & sight of the impact of the Pacific Ocean, where mother nature encounters land. Be prepared for all types of weather. Check out the Ft. Stevens website for details.
